В научном обзоре с целью выяснения последствий антенатального воздействия психоактивных веществ рассмотрены современные представления о механизмах дисфункции центральной нервной системы, снижения когнитивных способностей, дефицита внимания и гиперактивности, психосоматических расстройств у детей матерей, употреблявших алкоголь или наркотики во время беременности. Один из важнейших вопросов связан с выяснением риска злоупотребления алкоголем и наркотиками подростками с антенатальной интоксикацией психоактивными веществами. В настоящем обзоре освещены основные проблемы и сложности, с которыми сталкиваются исследователи в эксперименте и клинической практике, намечаются возможные пути их преодоления.
