Dear colleagues!

We offer you a new thematic issue of the Russian Psychiatric Journal (2025, No. 2), dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The issue contains reports on the mental health of combat participants, factors that increase the risk of post–traumatic stress disorder in combatants, as well as studies on the relationship between emotional dysregulation and perceived stress in military personnel who participated in combat operations in the zone of a special military operation. In the traditional section devoted to issues of forensic psychiatry, the history of the appearance in Russian criminal law of the modern formulation of the legal criterion of insanity and legislative provisions on the objectivity, scientific validity and reliability of expert conclusions are analyzed; the results of a study of the features of the personality system relevant to the processes of mental self-regulation in defendants with personality disorders are discussed. The issue also contains reports on various aspects of psychiatric care and epidemiology, clinical features of mental illness, child and adolescent psychiatry, as well as psychological research in psychiatry. The report on the scientific and practical conference with international participation "The Legacy and future of Psychiatry and Narcology", dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the Moscow Research Institute of Psychiatry, is publicly available.
