Abstract

This prospective cohort controlled study pursues the objective of identifying the rate and structure of mental disorders among the pupils of social care institutions, depending on the presence/absence of familial parenting, identifying the possible links between the diagnosed mental disorders, the age and the nature of the traumatizing events experienced by them, as well as the objective of developing the practical guidelines and the differentiated program of medical and psychological support. We have studied two groups of children and adolescents. The main group of pupils of the social care institutions was comprised of 181 children aged between 3 and 17. Control group was comprised of 147 children and adolescents at a regular public school aged between 7 and 17.
