A cross-sectional retrospective study of psychological, behavioral and neurophysiological factors of predisposition to impulsive aggression was carried out in individuals with personality disorders and accentuated traits (IAPA group, 28 people) who committed offenses of an impulsive aggressive nature, in comparison with mentally healthy volunteers (27 people). The aggressive tendencies were assessed using the Buss–Durkey inventory, and the level of impulsivity was assessed based on the performance of IMT test; neurophysiological factors of predisposition to impulsive aggression were studied using acoustic startle response. In the IAPA group, compared to controls the increase in impulsivity indices, increased hostility scales, increase in the level of active-defensive motivation and the involvement of mechanisms of defensive behavior in cognitive processes according to acoustic startle response were revealed. The relationship between the impulsivity indices and aggressive tendencies, which was mediated by correlations with acoustic startle response parameters were also found in IAPA group. The identified features can be considered as predisposition factors to implementation of impulsive aggressive reactions in individuals with personality anomalies.
