Abstract

In a one-stage retrospective study to assess the validity and internal consistency of The Self and Interpersonal Functioning Scale (SIFS), 302 subjects were tested on a Russian-speaking audience, divided into 3 groups: mentally healthy (154 people), persons with personality disorders (104 people) and persons with schizophrenic spectrum disorders (44 people). Based on the results of the study, conclusions were drawn about the good internal consistency of the SIFS, its ability to differentiate individuals with personality disorders from both mentally healthy and subjects with schizophrenic spectrum disorders, as well as about the sensitivity of the scale to determining the severity of personal pathology. The good validity (criterion and discriminative) of the SIFS for assessing persons with personality disorders is shown.
