In this empirical study, 120 male patients were examined in order to study the features of the formation and course of alcohol dependence in comorbid exogenous organic brain damage. The study was conducted using a specially designed questionnaire that allowed to determine the presence or absence of signs of exogenous organic brain damage based on the answers of the subjects to the questions. The patients' clinical data were taken from their medical records and also collected during clinical interviews. It was found that comorbid exogenous organic brain damage has a modifying effect on the clinical and pathodynamic patterns of alcoholism, accelerating the rate of addiction formation, reducing the duration of remissions, increasing the duration of pseudo-beatings and the frequency of amnesic forms of intoxication, and also contribute to co-dependence on tobacco smoking.
