Forensic psychiatric assessment of the legally significant abilities of the accused who committed a socially dangerous act in a state of exogenous organic psychosis

In this retrospective study with the aim of developing differentiated criteria for forensic psychiatric assessment of legally significant capacities of the accused who committed a socially dangerous act in a state of exogenous organic psychosis, 78 males were examined. Depending on the main etiological factor in the development of psychosis, the examined persons were divided into 3 groups: psychoses associated with alcohol use, organic and mixed. It was established that the clinical picture of acute exogenous organic psychotic disorders during a socially dangerous act is characterized by pronounced polymorphism, with a certain specificity in the identified groups. During the forensic psychiatric examination of these persons, the leading psychopathological syndromes were identified that violate their criminal procedural capacity; criteria for assessing the ability to testify about the period of the unlawful act are given.
