Abstract

This scientific review examines, systematizes and describes psychotherapeutic approaches used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder that meet the requirements of safety and high proven effectiveness in order to analyze scientific publications of domestic and foreign studies available in the databases PubMed, EMBASE, MEDLINE, RSCI, Cochrane Library, Cyberleninka. The clinical diversity of PTSD symptoms in terms of the use of popular types of psychotherapy and the achieved psychotherapeutic effects is discussed. Cognitive behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, as well as their integration with suggestive techniques are considered. The analysis made it possible to identify not only effective methods of psychotherapy used in the practice of psychotherapists, but also priority areas for further research.

Keywords post-traumatic stress disorder; psychotherapeutic approaches; eye movement desensitization and reprocessing; cognitive-behavioral therapy; suggestive therapy
