A comparative study was conducted to identify prognostically significant variables of perception of interpersonal conflicts in order to improve the accuracy of differential diagnosis of affective disorders. The sample consisted of 136 people with diagnoses of affective disorders (average age 30.93+11.38, 37 men and 99 women). The diagnostic complex included: "Multifactorial empathy questionnaire" by M. Davis, Methodology for diagnosing the level of development of reflexivity by A.V. Karpov, Questionnaire "Style of self-regulation of behavior" by V.I. Morosanova, Questionnaire "Methods of coping behavior" by R. Lazarus, the Melbourne decision-making questionnaire by T.V. Kornilova, an experimental procedure for presenting videos of interpersonal conflicts. People with major depressive disorder (MDD) tend to have difficulties adapting to situational changes and intense coping strategies, while people with bipolar affective disorder (BAD) tend to interpret the situation egocentrically, attributing the causes of conflict to the victim, and tend to be confrontational. When differentiating affective disorders (BAD and MDD), the predictive model of a depressive episode within the framework of the BAD has a higher discriminating ability than the predictive model of the BAD.
