The objective of our research was the description of differential diagnostic features of Dementia with Lewy Bodies and Parkinson Disease in order to improve the diagnosis and the differential diagnosis of these diseases. 205 consecutive patients with idiopathic Parkinson Disease and 5 Dementia with Lewy Bodies patients were questioned at time of routine clinic visits. Unlike Parkinson Disease, Dementia with Lewy Bodies was characterized by malignant progression, normal olfaction, absence of clinical fluctuations, early development of severe intellectual impairment, hallucinations and confusion, as well as mild therapeutic effect of antiparkinsonian medications.
