Abstract

The paper reviews the available evidence on socially dangerous acts committed by persons with mental disorders in Russia as a whole and in its individual regions. Explored are the incidence and nature of socially dangerous acts. Dynamics of major indicators over a 10 year period showing the social danger of mentally ill people is presented. The relationship is investigated between mentally ill patients who have committed socially dangerous acts and those subject to regular medical check-ups with regard to basic nosological entities and the nature of wrongful acts.
