The current paper describes the results of development and adaptation of the Russian version of the Interpersonal Needs Questionnaire (K. Van Orden et al). Questioned were 209 psychiatric inpatients. Exploratory and confirmatory analyses of results proved conformity of the theoretical model to empirical findings. Total score and factors of INQ demonstrated strong internal consistency. T. Joiner’s theory of suicidal behavior considers perceived burdensomeness and thwarted belongingness as main
predictors of suicidality. Based on the results of our work it was found that there is a strong correlation between perceived burdensomeness and suicidal ideation which fact may serve as an important predictor of suicidal behavior.
