Abstract

In this comparative study, pursuing the goal of researching the basis for the emergence of offending activity of alcohol-dependent individuals, we have examined 246 patients (main group, n=192, and the control group, n=54). Study results have shown that the unsatisfactory social-psychological developmental conditions, which emerged in the premorbid period, when combined with the variety of constitutionally-biological and the exogenously-organic factors, contributed to the emergence of aggressive tendencies and their fixation in the form of rejection of commonly acceptable norms and requirements, as well as in the form of emotional and physical aggression, which was usually projected onto other people, inanimate objects, and animals.

Keywords alcohol; alcohol addiction; offending behavior; prevention
