Psychiatric disorders in epilepsy at current classification

The review analyzes Russian and foreign publications devoted to modern ideas about the diagnosis of epilepsy and its role in international classifications. A new international classification of epilepsy and epileptic seizures is introduced, where used the concept of «comorbid conditions». The importance of various mental disorders in epilepsy and their qualifications are considered. Analyzed the structure of the ICD-11 sections on epilepsy and neurocognitive disorders, as well as the characteristics of their diagnostic criteria in ICD-11 and DSM-5.
