Abstract

In this non-sampling observational study, pursuing the goal of finding the peculiarities of gender-role identity in mental patients who committed sexual offences, we have examined 125 patients undergoing mandatory treatment. We have singled out the following two groups: 1) patients with sexual preference disorders (paraphilias) – 87 individuals, 2) patients without paraphilias – 38 individuals. We have utilized the following psychological methods: The modified method for studying the degree of masculinity and femininity, Color test of attitudes, Coding-test, and Wagner’s Hand-test. We have found peculiarities of gender-role identification of patients with and without paraphilias; we are the first to submit the description of the peculiarities of gender awareness in patients with multiple disorders of sexual preference.
