Abstract

This scientific review pursued the objective of systematizing in carrying out the analysis of the results of studies that looked at those personality disorders which predispose one to develop a psychoactive substance dependence. We have generalized the data obtained in the course of assessing the patients, suffering from personality disorders and the comorbid psychoactive substance dependence syndrome, on the scales of impulsiveness, aggressiveness, and suicidal intentions, depending on the kind of psychoactive substance which they used. We have compared the identified disturbances of self-image and fundamental convictions, emotions and motivation, with the criteria for limited responsibility, which have been developed to date.

Keywords personality disorder; syndrome of dependence; psychoactive substances; comorbidity; criminal responsibility; limited responsibility
