In this original empirical study, pursuing the objective of identifying the repertory of emotions experienced by professional drivers depending on their subjective evaluation of the road traffic situation, we have used the questionnaire developed by these authors, which makes it possible to identify the drivers’ emotions in certain road traffic situations. It has been established that in accident-related situations the spectrum of professional drivers’ negative emotions moves from the aggressive register to the anxious one. In a dangerous situation the drivers had simultaneously experienced irritation, excitation, fear, fright, and also – composure. The state of tension provokes the emergence of ambivalent experiences in the form of disgust, irritation, confidence and composure.
