The incidence of mental disorders in children and adolescents in the Northwestern Federal District

This cross-sectional observational study pursued the objective of examining the changes that occur over time i№ the indicators of the incidence of mental disorders in children and adolescents across the Northwestern Federal District and comparing them to the counterpart data for the Russian Federation as a whole. We have analyzed the data contained in the Reporting Form # 36 titled, “Data on the cohorts of mental patients” and the statistical reference materials compiled by the Central Research Institute for the Organization and Informatization of Healthcare. We describe the peculiarities of the state of mental healthcare provided to children and adolescents across the constituent administrative entities of the District. We have identified the need for improving the organization of psychiatric care and training of child and adolescence psychiatrists.
