The paper discusses the issue of differentiation with respect to the clinical picture of schizophrenia consistent with forensic-psychiatric objectives in evaluating the capacity of the accused in criminal proceedings. It is demonstrated that the optimal framework for such evaluation is differentiated analysis based as it is on identifying the key syndrome and assessing dimensionally the clinical presentation. Psychopathological and clinico-dynamic features are defined depending on the form of disease and its duration that allow one to assess the intact and impaired legally significant abilities.
