The scientific work of S. Ya. Rubinstein during the work at the Institute of forensic psychiatry. Part 2. Pathopsychological study оf reactive States (1949-1951)

Abstract

This article presents the analysis of the unpublished scientific works, authored by S.Ya. Rubinstein (one of the founders of Soviet pathopsychological school) during the period of her employment at the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry. The works, titled “The psychological analysis of verbal disinhibition in reactive states” (1949), and “On certain peculiarities of thinking in reactive states” (1950) are devoted to the pathopsychological analysis of the operational, dynamic and motivational disorders of cognitive activity of patients with a diagnosis of “reactive state”. The work, titled “The peculiarities of auditory perceptions of patients during a reactive state” (1951) represents the first step in the experimental study of auditory illusions and hallucinations in persons with mental disorders. The full results of the study are summarized in her doctoral thesis (1972).
