To study the mental health of children after the neonatal intensive care, we examined 100 children aged 5-6. We used clinical, psychopathological, psychological, neurophysiological, neuroradiological techniques. We divided our subjects into 3 groups with different levels of mental development. Dysontogenetic mental illnesses following critical conditions have been associated with diffuse changes in several areas of the brain. The predominance of dysregulation determines the features of the clinical picture. Identification of clinical and biological characteristics of the dysontogenetic mental disorders can be utilized in developing the therapeutic, rehabilitative, and preventive measures.
