Abstract

The current study has been carried out in order to evaluate the possible discrepancies in psychopathological symptoms in HIV-infected and non-infected schizophrenic patients. Forty HIV-infected patients with verified diagnosis of schizophrenia were included into study. Among studied patients were 23 females (58%) and 17 males (42%). Forty patients with schizophrenia without HIV is control group (23 females, 48% and 21 males (52%). In study use clinical and psychopathological method, immunity was assessed by use of flowing cytometriya. Results: The statistically significant positive correlation between CD3+CD4+ T-lymphocyte count and daily dose of zuclopenthixol has been revealed. On the other hand, the inverse correlation between CD3+ CD4+ T-lymphocyte count in blood and daily dose of clozapine has been obtained. The mean daily dose of clozapine used to relieve the psychotic states in HIV-infected group was much less than in control group
