The algorithm of forensic expert study of the dysregulation of activity in criminal situation in persons with mental disorders

Abstract

This review presents the algorithm for the expert procedures, which are important in objectification of mental disorders, verification of their clinical nosological affiliation, and psychological diagnosis. The authors have singled out the psychological patterns and the weak links in the structure of activity regulation with subsequent projection on different variants of situations. We have carried out the analysis and made the generalizations, concerning the regulatory components of criminal activity on the spectrum of expert evaluations along the “responsibility–irresponsibility” continuum. The proposed techniques are aimed at ensuring the quality of diagnostics, the differentiated and evidence-based nature of expert decisions, which are seen as priorities in the development of combined diagnostic systems in forensicpsychiatric examinations.
