Characteristics of forensic psychiatric expert decisions in the light of legislative innovation in civil law

This article submits the analysis of the forensic-psychiatric examinations in civil cases, which have been carried out in the forensic-psychiatric expert institutions across Russia. We have identified the peculiarities of the forensic-psychiatric expert decisions, taken in different constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Special attention is paid in this work to the expert decisions, pertaining to the limitation of competence in respect of individuals who have mental disorders – the new revision of Article 30 of the Russian Civil Code, which came into effect on March 2nd 2015 in accordance with the Federal Law of the RF N 302, passed on December 30th 2012 and titled “On introducing alterations to Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4 of Part I of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation”.
