Abstract

This article presents an algorithm for expert determination of the criteria of potential dangerousness, in accordance with which mandatory treatment has been indicated. This is done on a sample of 76 persons, who had been found to be unable to comprehend the actual nature and social dangerousness of their actions and control them in a state of remission, as determined according to PANSS international remission criteria scale. It was found impossible to resolve expert issues using only the dimensional approach in forensic psychiatric practice. Conclusions should be based on an integrated approach in compliance with the international criteria for remission, together with the categorical approach, based on leading syndrome identification. The relevance of a differentiated system of analysis is shown in accordance with the “Syndrome–Person–Situation” formula.
