On the field studies implementation of the new version of the International Classification of Diseases

The main stages of the development of the 11th revision of the International Classification of Diseases, which is expected to be approved in 2018, are presented in the article. Department on Mental health and substance abuse of the World Health Organization organizes extensive campaigns and events, which focus on the problems, related to diagnosing psychopathology and developing an efficient classification system for global healthcare. For these purposes, the field studies of the diagnostic guidelines for certain categories of mental disorders have been conducted. These were the internet-based case-controlled studies and ecological implementation field studies at 28 clinical centers in 13 countries, including Russia. The results achieved will allow to evaluate the consistency and clinical utility of the new classification system.
