The review justifies the necessity for development of general theory of mental self-regulation what implies clarification of associations between clinical, psychological and psychophysiological levels of analysis. It is assumed that this model could become the basis for methodological and technological improvement of expert practice. A modern view of the solution of the problem of relations between brain and mind is clarified. The principle of isomorphism is considered as well as its understanding in Gestalt psychology, the information theory of mental processes, the theory of functional systems, systemic psychophysiology and the hyper-network theory of the brain. The physiological basis of freedom of choice is shown. The principal possibility of analyzing the mind in terms of physiology is approved.
