In a simulation study, an analysis of the impact on the budget was performed to assess the relevance and cost-effectiveness of current standards of care for patients with major depressive disorder. Disease burden was 1.333% of Gross Domestic Product, of which 13.9% were not evidence-based medication. Results indicate the necessity of nomenclatures’ revision, which will make it possible both to increase drugs with proven effectiveness in the Russian standard and to increase the internal standards’ consistency.
