In a one-stage experimental study the frequency of alleles and genotypes of SNP Endothelin-1 (Lys198Asn) and E-selectin (Leu544Phe, Ser128Arg) among patients with schizophrenia in the Zabaykalsky region have been studied. Were examined 100 patients with paranoid schizophrenia (F20.09) and 102 healthy people. Polymerase chain reaction was used to analyze gene polymorphisms. Only SNP END-1 (Lys198Asn) corresponded to the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. It was revealed that patients with paranoid schizophrenia were 1,8 times more likely to have genotypes carrying the mutant allele Asn SNP END-1 (Lys198Asn). It can be assumed that carrying the Asn allele of the polymorphism END-1 (Lys198Asn) contributes to the pathogenesis of schizophrenia due to the effect on the intensity of vasoconstriction and the initiation of inflammation in the vascular endothelium.
