Abstract

The paper looks into the application of involuntary psychiatric measures which as from September 2015 will be regulated by chapter 30 of the Code of administrative court procedure of the Russian Federation (they are currently regulated by chapter 35 of the Civil procedure code). Particular emphasis is placed on innovations wherein CAP rules differ from those of the Code of civil procedure. These differences are significant. In this context, the authors consider it necessary to prepare an information letter addressed to the country’s mental health services, which oversee the imposition of involuntary psychiatric interventions.
