Contribution of temperament to the structure of personality disorder

Abstract

In this cross-sectional study, pursuing the objective of identifying specific and general biologically determined temperamental properties in the structure of clinical manifestations of personality disorders 47 participants with a diagnosis of a personality disorder were examined (24 – with emotionally unstable; 13 – with a histrionic; 6 – with schizoid; 4 – with paranoid radicals). A comparative analysis was carried out using standard characteristics of the general group of persons with personality disorders and subgroups identified depending on the leading radical. The specific and general features of temperament, influencing the structure and dynamics of personality disorders, were revealed.
