Experience in upgrading psychotherapeutic care in the Republic of Bashkortostan

Abstract

An analysis was carried out based on three years of work of the efficacy of a new organizational form of specialized psychotherapeutic care in the Republic of Bashkortostan for patients with borderline mental disorders and persons with suicidal behavior. The care is provided by an independent public health organization of psychotherapeutic profile outside of psychiatric services including all day/24 hour hospitals, medical rehabilitation unit, and outpatient admission (Republican Clinical Psychotherapy Center) and its units in the municipalities of the Republic. The Centre provides an example of the efficacy of implementing a threetier system of crisis prevention and rendering a psychological service to people with suicidal behavior, delivery of emergency and planned psychotherapeutic and psychological care.
