Abstract

In this analytical scientific review, in order to highlight the evolution of the theoretical and organizational foundations of domestic forensic psychiatry, the stages of its formation against the background of socio-economic reforms, historical upheavals, internal and external political events from the beginning of the legal, organizational, scientific and practical transformations of the Soviet period, the creation of scientific research institutes, criminological offices and expert units in the country, the subsequent formation of forensic psychiatry, and up to the "network" development of the forensic psychiatric service are described, monitoring of its activities and applied interdisciplinary scientific and practical developments. Great importance in the formation and strengthening of the basic foundations of domestic forensic psychiatry is given to the scientific and forensic expert team of the V. Serbsky Institute.
