Abstract

In a single-stage retrospective study in order to study the pupillary and corneal reflexes in persons with pedophilic disorder under conditions of erotic specific stimulation 60 men were examined (the first group – 30 people with pedophilic disorder, the second group – 30 people without pedophilic disorder). The data obtained allowed us to conclude that the corneal reflex fading is observed in the subjects of both groups when they are presented with the stimulus that is included in the structure of their sexual preferences and a decrease in the frequency and total duration of blinking is important for assessing the sexual attractiveness of the stimulus material. The study of the pupillary reflex showed that in persons with pedophilia it has an undifferentiated character when presented with deviant and normative stimuli, and normally there is a significant dilation of the pupil in response to the presentation of a heterosexual stimulus. Thus, the data obtained allow us to use the assessment of the pupillary and corneal reflexes to identify the features of sexual preferences.
