Clinical assessment of problem behavior in preschool children with autism spectrum disorders

In this original study, in order to identify the relationship between problematic behavior and concomitant (somatic, neurological and mental) pathology, the clinical features of 83 preschool children with autism spectrum disorders were studied. As a result, a significant relationship was revealed between undesirable behavior (excitability, negativism, hyperactivity, physical aggression and irritability) and concomitant somatic pathology, primarily endocrine, skin and respiratory. At the same time, the identified difficulties in establishing correlations of problematic behavior with neurological and mental pathology were associated with existing speech and intellectual disorders. In the future, it is planned to continue the study, including with an increase in the volume of empirical material, in order to develop therapeutic tactics for correcting undesirable behavior in preschool children with autism spectrum disorders.
