Abstract

In this scientific review in order to determine the frequency, nosographic structure and psychological markers of comorbid mental disorders, three previous studies involving patients with secondary amenorrhea were analyzed. The examination data of 69 women with functional hypothalamic amenorrhea, 43 with hyperprolactinemic hypogonadism and 116 with polycystic ovary syndrome were considered. These studies used ICD-10 criteria, MINI-6 interview, as well as the MMPI test. Mental disorders were observed in 65–90% of the surveyed women. Hyperthymic, depressive-dysthymic, anxious-alert, and masculine patterns of behavior were identified, reflecting the increased psychological vulnerability of patients.
